Winter Wedding Colors 5 Color Schemes You Will Adore

Winter Wedding Colors: 5 Color Schemes You Will Adore

//  by The Wedding Shoppe

While choosing your wedding colors may seem like a challenge, winter weddings have some of our favorite color schemes throughout the year. From warm and cozy shades to frosty neutrals and sparkles, here are five schemes for winter wedding colors that you’ll adore.

Maroon + Gold

Nearly every color pairs well with gold, especially for a winter wedding. While maroon is a slightly darker hue, it’s also romantic and elegant for your wedding day. Not only do the colors look great on invites, flower arrangements and centerpieces, they’re also a perfect color scheme for bridesmaid dresses or your groom’s jacket. You can even add a small touch of gold to your wedding dress such as a small tiara, bow, or sparkle.

Red + Green

While red and green may seem like cliche colors for a winter wedding, they can also be repurposed to create a gorgeous color scheme. One of our favorite ways to reinvent the colors is by adding some flannel or plaid. You can incorporate these into your napkins, table linens, blankets for an outdoor wedding – even your groom’s tie can be red plaid! If you’d really like to stay on theme with a Christmas wedding, add some holiday accents such as a pine tree with name tags for your seating arrangements, Christmas lights or miniature reindeer.

All Neutrals

If you want to keep it simple for your winter wedding, all neutrals are gorgeous and elegant. There’s also a variety of colors to choose from such as beige, blush, and cream. Try to avoid all-white so you don’t wash out all the colors at your wedding as well. Keeping it monocratic with your neutrals also allows you to have more fun with your decor since none of the colors will clash. Whether it’s your wedding invitations, centerpieces or flower bouquet, don’t be afraid to get creative!

Blue + Silver

Want to add a little snow to your wedding colors without the frostbite? Light blue and silver imitate a frosty winter day in every aspect of your wedding! You can make your theme a bit more dramatic by adding some silver sparkles to your cake, wedding dress, and more. We suggest keeping your blue tones on the lighter side to maintain the effect of snow while also not drawing too much attention from the bold silver.

Emerald + Copper

Jewel tones are perfect for winter, especially if you’re looking for a warmer color scheme. We recommend pairing your emerald shades with copper accents to highlight both colors during your wedding. Some of our favorite ways to incorporate copper are candle stands in your tables’ centerpieces, drinkware, and even your invitations! Bridesmaids dresses also look gorgeous in emerald as well as flattering on many body types.

Try these winter wedding colors for your ceremony this season. From warm to metallic, you can personalize your day to match your personality. Still, haven’t found the perfect venue for your special day? Check out some of our favorite winter wedding locales in Michigan and start planning your dream wedding today!
