How much time will I have to try on gowns?
Your Private Viewing Experience™ allows for 90 minutes with a personal stylist who will help you find the dress you’ve been dreaming of while providing the experience you deserve. If you or any of your guests need special accommodations, please let us know in advance so we can ensure your needs are met.
Should I bring in pictures of my favorite wedding gowns or share my Pinterest board of bridal dresses?
Definitely! We want to learn everything we can about the dress you desire so we can present you with selections you’ll love. We encourage you to keep an open mind while shopping. We can’t tell you how many times our brides have fallen head over heels in love with dresses that looked nothing like what they originally envisioned. Once we get to know you, your style, and your wedding vision, our personal stylists will use their keen eye and stylish intuition to find “the one” that makes you feel more beautiful than ever before.
Can I bring my children to my wedding gown appointment?
While we love little ones, we know a 90-minute appointment can feel like an eternity to kiddos—and bored little kiddos are often disruptive and distracting little kiddos. Also, while we strive to make The Wedding Shoppe as comfortable and safe as possible, the reality of working in a bridal salon means lots of loose pins, needles, and other small objects that can quickly become safety hazards in little hands. If you’d like to involve your child(ren) in your wedding dress shopping experience, we invite you to bring them to your final fitting where they can get the full “princess” experience without all the waiting.
Is there anything I should bring with me to try on gowns?
We recommend wearing a nude-colored strapless bra so you can comfortably try on any style that catches your eye. Keep in mind that you’ll most likely need help dressing so anything you’re not comfortable being seen in while changing dresses is best left at home. To prevent accidental damages to the dresses and ensure the best fit, please plan to try your dress on barefoot. When you find “the one” we’ll hem it to match your height.
Who should I bring with me to my wedding gown appointment?
Bring the people in your life who know you inside out, who always have your best interest at heart, and who uplift you. One or two trusted friends and a parent or sibling is the perfect mix for your Wedding Shoppe entourage! Remember, too many people = too many conflicting opinions (and a whole lot of unnecessary stress for you.)
What sizes are your samples?
Most of our sample sizes run between sizes 8 and 16 but we carry samples in sizes 6-28. Rest assured, even if the sample is too big or too small, we will clip you in to give you the best possible idea of what the gown will look like in your size.
Can I take pictures of my favorite dress?
YES! As soon as you purchase your gown you can take all the pictures you want. Until that time, we ask you not to take pictures out of respect for our designers, who themselves do not post pictures of their dresses online to avoid crude reproductions.

Can I get a catalog of the wedding gowns you carry?
The designers we work with care about maintaining the integrity of their line. For this reason, they do not post photos of their unique gowns online and ask that our brides only take pictures once their gown is purchased; therefore, we do not have a catalog of wedding gowns.
Do we buy used gowns?
No. We are not a consignment shop. We only sell new merchandise. After all, you’re starting a new season of life as a married woman. We believe that’s worthy of a new wedding gown!
Do you rent wedding gowns?
No. Wedding Shoppe gowns are your forever keepsake that you will one day share with your daughter or granddaughter.

ORDERING THE GOWN
When do I need to order my gown?
Most of the gowns we sell are available for you to take home the same day. If you choose a gown we need to special order, we recommend shopping for it 9-18 months before your wedding date.
How do I know what size to order?
Our experienced personal stylists will take your measurements to ensure your gown is sized correctly. In the event you fall in between sizes, we will order the larger size and allow our seamstress to work her magic on it. Keep in mind, your bridal dress size may not be the same as your clothing size. Bridal sizes tend to run small and different designers use different measurement charts, so a size 8 in one brand may be a size 10 in another.
My wedding is three months away, can I still get a wedding gown?
Absolutely! When you choose your dress from our in-house collection, you may take it home today! If you fall in love with a dress that isn’t part of our in-house collection, ask us if we can rush order it, as some designers will accommodate this request!
Are the wedding gowns at The Wedding Shoppe “special order” or “in stock”?
Most are in-stock and available for you to take home on the same day if you wish. We do have a small collection from which we can special order.
What are the prices like at The Wedding Shoppe?
We have a breathtaking collection of high-quality, exclusive gowns from talented designers in London, Barcelona, New York and beyond. With competitive prices, our gowns range between $1100 to $5500. We also offer “limited edition” and “discontinued” gowns for sale starting at $500. When you arrive for your appointment, simply let your personal stylist know how much you’re willing to invest in your dress so she can find a dress that dazzles and respects your budget.
What if I see a specific gown that you don’t have in the salon, can I still order it?
The Wedding Shoppe cannot order gowns from collections we do not feature in our boutique. If another bridal store promises to do this for you, be very careful; as many designers and manufacturers frown on such activity, refer to it as unethical and close accounts with stores that practice this behavior. As a client of The Wedding Shoppe, you can rest assured you will never be a victim of unethical business practices. It’s simply not our style!
Will my wedding gown come in my length?
Most wedding gowns are designed for a 5’7” woman wearing three inch heels. Many of us do not fall in this category, so it is possible to order extra length for an additional charge or to alter a gown to a shorter length. Our Wedding Shoppe seamstress is well-versed in both and happy to assist you in perfecting the length of your gown.
I’m planning on losing weight. When should I shop for and purchase my wedding gown?
Most brides plan on buying their wedding gowns 9 to 18 months before their wedding day. You should do the same even if you’re planning to lose weight. We recommend buying the gown that fits at your current weight and if you reach your weight goals, our seamstresses will happily alter the dress to fit you perfectly.
What if I gain/lose weight and the gown is too big/too small when it arrives?
We take your measurements and order based on your size at that time. Since our seamstresses regularly take dresses in or let them out a size, gaining 10 pounds or losing 20 usually isn’t a problem. In some cases, we are able to take dresses in 3 or more sizes; however, doing so incurs extra charges and does require reconstruction of the gown to maintain the integrity of the design.
How much do I have to pay to order a gown?
Most brides pay for their gown in full at the time of purchase but we do accept a 75% down payment, including any rush fees, with the 25% remainder due when your dress arrives. Down payment arrangements do require a small payment processing fee of $25.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and cash. We only accept checks for special orders.
If the wedding is cancelled, can I get my money back?
We know how painful such circumstances can be; however, due to our agreements with designers, we’re unable to offer refunds, exchanges, or cancellations. There are no exceptions.
What if I find the gown of my dreams, but I’m not ready to buy it yet (financially or because I want my mom to see it)... will you hold the gown for me?
Since we have no control over when a designer discontinues a gown or raises their prices, we’re unable to hold gowns for any reason. To ensure you get the gown of your dreams before another bride snatches it up, we strongly encourage you to shop when you have the people you love most with you as well as the investment needed to make it yours.
If I order a gown and do not like it when it comes in, can I send it back?
We will make every attempt to ensure you are 100% confident in your decision prior to accepting your order. Please understand, we’re unable to offer refunds, exchanges, or cancellations if you change your mind. There are no exceptions.
Are alterations included?
Alterations are an art form and due to the labor intensive process, alterations are always an extra charge. Rest assured, our amazing seamstresses have more than 30 years of experience making sure each Wedding Shoppe gown fits every bride perfectly!

Do I need an appointment?
With an appointment we’re able to ensure you’ll work with one of our personal stylists who is able to reserve a changing room sized for your party, answer every question and coordinate your bridesmaid dress discovery experience from start to finish. Your discovery experience includes everything from demonstrating proper fit to choosing materials, colors and styles, as well as taking measurements, and making sure the dresses arrive on time. When should I shop and order my gowns?
We recommend placing your bridesmaid order at least six months before the wedding date. Shopping early allows you to lock in the best pricing and ensures there is plenty of time for your bridesmaids to take care of any necessary alterations. In the case of a shorter timeline, we can order dresses and have them in four months with an extra fee. Keep in mind: it is best to order all of the dresses together to ensure they are each cut from the same color dye-lot.
What styles do you carry?
Our designers offer a wide range of styles, materials and color options suited to complement any bridal style.
How much are your bridesmaids dresses?
Our bridesmaid dresses range from $199 to $400. If you purchase your wedding gown with us, we will extend a $25 discount on each bridesmaid dress that you order from us as well.
How do I know what size to order?
When your bridesmaids come into our store, we will take their measurements so we can ensure a proper fit. If a member of your party is unable to come into the store to be measured, we ask that they have their bust, hip, waist and height measurements taken by a professional seamstress or tailor. Please keep in mind, the size on the label of a bridesmaid dress often does not match the size worn in every day clothing, so don’t be surprised if you need to order a couple of sizes up or down from what you usually wear. Also, please note, most dresses are designed for a 5’7” woman in heels. If you are 5’8” or taller, we will typically recommend adding to the length of your dress.
Can I place an order from another town/state?
Yes! We’re happy to accept orders over the phone. If your bridesmaids are not able to come into the store to be fitted, please instruct them to be have a professional seamstress or tailor take their bust, waist, hip and height measurements to ensure an accurate fit. All bridesmaids dresses are shipped to our store. Since we’re unable to ship them elsewhere, please have one person in your party pick up the entire order at the store and distribute the dresses as needed.
Can I make payments on my bridesmaids dress?
We require full payment upfront for bridesmaid dresses. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Payments can be made in person or on the phone.
