Your Guide to November Weddings in Michigan

Your Guide to November Weddings in Michigan

//  by The Wedding Shoppe

From cozy hues to a touch of snow, November is one of our favorite times of the year in Michigan. While it may have some cooler weather, it also adds an extra touch of romance and warmth to any wedding ceremony. Whether you’re stuck on a venue or need help choosing decorations or cake, here’s a quick guide to November weddings in Michigan.

Seasonal Decor

Decor for a November wedding is the perfect opportunity to get creative! From centerpieces to lighting and floral arrangements, take advantage of the season with its warm colors and colder weather. Be sure to keep your wedding colors and theme in mind when choosing your decor as well. If you’ll be having an indoor barn wedding, try adding a few mason jar centerpieces with twine and candles to accent your tables. For weddings on the water, you can incorporate a more nautical theme into your invites and table settings as well.

Choosing Colors

A fall wedding gives you a great variety of wedding colors to choose from. Whether it’s neutral shades or jewel tones of navy, maroon, and emerald, we recommend choosing up to two or three main colors for your wedding. For brides who want to stray from the traditional white dress, you can always opt for a colored wedding dress that matches your theme as well. You can also incorporate your chosen colors into your wedding bouquet – or even just one for a pop of color!

Cake Designs

Who doesn’t love a delicious wedding cake? Not only do you want it to taste great, but you also want it to look gorgeous for your big day. Add a touch of the season to your cake with fun fall designs like foliage, colorful flowers, or even some small pumpkins. Don’t be afraid to make a statement and add a beautiful cake topper as well – like you and your partner’s initials or a silhouette cutout. You can even skip the cake and choose a more seasonal optional like a fruit pie, macaroons, or cupcakes.

Indoor Venues

Since November is a colder month, you may want to look for a wedding venue indoors. Especially if it happens to snow on your special day, you’ll want to be sure you have an indoor option for you and your guests. Michigan is home to some beautiful castle venues such as Henderson Castle, along with beautiful wineries like Fenton Winery and Brewery. If you already know you’d love to have an outdoor ceremony, we recommend searching for a venue with both indoor and outdoor locations. One of our favorites is the Waterview Loft with its gorgeous waterfront views, you can stay warm inside or dance the night away outdoors! Want more venue options? Try our recommendations for Southwest Michigan or even Northern Michigan.
