While many couples choose to have a larger wedding, there’s something special about a small, more intimate ceremony with only your closest family and friends. From gorgeous waterfront views to sprawling gardens and elegant hotels, these are some of our favorite small wedding venues in Michigan.
Zingerman’s Cornman Farms
This 42-acre farm is located in southeastern Michigan and is made up of historic buildings, beautiful gardens, and a tree-lined drive. Cornman Farms offers a variety of wedding options including intimate, tiny, bespoke and elopements. You’ll also have your choice of ceremony venues such as the historic farmhouse, in the gardens or under their romantic oak tree. Cornman Farms can accommodate up to 300 people, however, their smallest wedding venues hold anywhere from 4-100 people. They also have a full calendar available on their website so you can see their availability at all times when planning for your special day.
Townsend Hotel
While the Townsend Hotel does have ballrooms available for larger weddings, its two events spaces – The Regency Room and The Clancy Room – are ideal for smaller celebrations with close family and friends. Not only does the hotel include its own wedding event specialists to help with all details of your day, but they also have a few different wedding packages to choose from so you can customize everything to your own preference. The Townsend Hotel even has its own in-house Executive Pastry Chef for a truly unforgettable wedding cake.
The Veranda at The Whitcomb
If you’re looking for an intimate beachfront wedding, The Veranda at The Whitcomb is a perfect small wedding venue for both your ceremony and reception. With panoramic views of Lake Michigan and St. Joseph River, couples can say their “I do” on the sand, in their garden or their private rooftop space. The Veranda’s indoor locations can accommodate 80 guests while their outdoor venues have more room with space for 300 guests. The location is great for both indoor and outdoor receptions and ceremonies as well since you still have waterfront views even in the colder winter months.
The Morris Estate
With recent renovations, a gorgeous chapel and new luxurious private suite, the Morris Estate brings both vintage charm and intimacy to any wedding. After hosting your ceremony and reception, you and guests can even stay on-site in their various rooms at The River House. The chapel can accommodate 180 guests and comes complete with its own sound system, climate control and lounges for both the bridal and groom party. The Morris Estate also offers its own exclusive vendors to make your planning process as simple as possible.
