With stay at home orders being slowly lifted in some states, there’s hope we may be seeing some smaller wedding ceremonies as early as summer. While many venues are also allowing virtual tours, now is the perfect time to find a space you’ll love. From a zoo to an old automobile factory, these are just a few of our favorite small wedding venues in Metro Detroit:

The Eastern

Located in Detroit’s Eastern Market neighborhood, The Eastern has a rustic charm perfect for a small wedding. With exposed metal beams, concrete floors and brick walls, you’ll have plenty of space for your own wedding decor along with a guest list of 300 people or less. The Eastern lands a place on our list of  small wedding venues in metro Detroit because it is also easily expandable if you need more room by opening its garage door or utilizing its small outdoor patio. The Eastern comes with additional add-ons as well such as a larger sound system, bartenders and full bar service.

Detroit Zoo

Not only does the Detroit Zoo offer a variety of different venues, you’ll also have your choice of wedding packages including buffet options, plated dinners and bar services. The wildlife makes a beautiful backdrop as you say “I do” with whichever habitat you choose. For smaller weddings, we recommend the Cotton Family Wetlands Boardwalk, Arctic Ring of Life or Giraffe Plaza which all hold 100 guests for fewer. Piquette Plant

Surround yourself with more than 100 years of history on your wedding day at the Piquette Plant. Formally a Ford plant, this old auto factory is now a working museum and rental space. It makes for one of the more unique small wedding venues in metro Detroit. The plant is open to the public daily with private rentals hours available from 4 pm – 12 am. It can also accommodate up to 250 guests for your ceremony with its second floor holding only 100 guests if you’re looking for something even smaller and more intimate.
