For many couples, the pets they have are also an important part of their family. Because of this, it’s become more popular recently to include pets on your wedding day. From giving them a role for your big day to snapping them in your wedding photos, here are a few ways to include pets in weddings.
Ring Bearer
One of the most popular ways to include your pet in your wedding is by letting them be the ring bearer for the day. This role works best for pets who are well trained and calm as they walk down the aisle. We recommend tying the ring to their collar or making a custom-fit ring holder for your pet. Be sure to test the collar beforehand so you know your pet is comfortable with walking it down the aisle before your ceremony.
“Pet of Honor”
One of our favorite ways to include pets in weddings is by giving them the title of “Pet of Honor”. While you can still have your traditional Maid of Honor as well, having your pet by your side as you say ‘I do’ will create unforgettable memories for the both of you. You can even dress them up with an adorable bow tie or ribbon for the occasion – just be sure it’s comfortable and safe for your pet!
Wedding Photos with Pets
You’ll look back on your wedding photos for years to come, so why not include your furry friends in them as well? Be sure to let your photographer know in advance if you plan on having your pets in your wedding photos so they can best accommodate you and your pet. This will also give them time to brainstorm any fun ideas they have and to ensure they snap photos of your pet throughout the ceremony as well.
Cake Toppers
Another great way to include pets in your wedding is by including them in your cake! Some of our favorites include a cute pet design on the side of your cake or a creative figurine of your pet to feature as a cake topper. This also works well with nearly every pet, no matter what animal you have.
Pet-Inspired Place Cards
Mark your guests’ spots at their wedding tables with a few pet-inspired place cards. Not only are these a playful alternative to the traditional and simple table cards, but they’re still incredibly functional. Some design ideas include having a silhouette of your pet on top of the table numbers with their name, or even attach a photo of your pet with the corresponding table.
