Not only is Michigan home to some pretty gorgeous views, but it also has a wide variety of wedding venues to choose from. Whether you’re looking for a small indoor ceremony or a large estate, Northern Michigan has options for everyone on their special day. From rustic barns to sprawling waterfront views, these are some of our favorite Northern Michigan wedding venues.
Boyne Mountain Resort
Located in Boyne Falls and just east of Deer Lake, Boyne Mountain Resort is family-owned and full of activities. Whether you’re looking for a winter wedding in the snow or a summer ceremony, the resort is great in all seasons! Not only does it offer your guests a variety of lodging options, but you’ll also have your choice of venues from ballrooms to mountainside lawns. You can even stop by the resort spa to relax both before and after your big day. If your guests will be staying a while, they can also enjoy the mountain’s waterpark, zip lining, ice skating and more!
Stafford’s Perry Hotel
With its proximity to downtown and Little Traverse Bay, Stafford’s Perry Hotel offers waterfront views with several venue options. Depending on the season, you can host your ceremony at both indoor and outdoor sites available. Their largest venue, the Rose Garden Veranda, can hold up to 300 guests along with a dance floor, bar area, and tent – all along the shores of Little Traverse Bay. Their Reycraft Room is also perfect for smaller ceremonies of 50 guests, with a more private space for a more affordable price as well.
Shanahan’s Barn
Looking for a more rustic feel for your upcoming nuptials? Shanahan’s Barn is quickly becoming one of Northern Michigan’s most popular venues! After undergoing a total revitalization in 2013, Shanahan’s is now the largest wedding barn in the region. The barn holds a capacity of 361 guests featuring soaring ceilings, wagon wheel chandeliers, dance floor, and newly added built-in restrooms. You’ll also receive the added assistance of Shanahan’s very own venue coordinator so you can feel confident in bringing your dream wedding to life!
Grand Hotel
Located just off the coast of Northern Michigan on Mackinac Island, the Grand Hotel is the perfect place for a beautiful summer wedding. Also known as “America’s Summer Place,” the hotel is a family-owned historic hotel as well as home to the world’s longest porch. The Grand can hold up to 400 guests at any of its venues for both large and small weddings. Its two most popular sites include the famous Front Porch and Tea Garden – both offer beautiful views for you and your guests. You can even pamper yourself and your wedding party at Astor’s Salon and Spa, play 18 holes of golf or explore the grounds on a bicycle.
