Black and White Wedding Ideas We Love

//  by The Wedding Shoppe

Not only are black and white wedding colors trendy and bold, they also work well for nearly all seasons and venues. From guest attire to fresh florals, here are some of our favorite black and white wedding ideas to incorporate into your own special day.

Guest Attire

To truly keep with the theme of a black and white wedding, we suggest including a dress code on your wedding invitations. Black tie attire is ideal for a black and white wedding theme, and be sure to include a request that your guests only dress in white and black. This will make your wedding day photos look elegant as well, with everyone dressed in similar colors.

Flower Arrangements

One of our favorite ways to incorporate black and white wedding ideas into your special day is through your flower arrangements. From the table centerpieces to the bridal bouquet, we recommend using a combination of white and black flower accents in all of your arrangements. These can include white roses, dahlias, black-and-white anemones, and more.

Wedding Cake

Your wedding cake is another great detail to include in your black and white theme. While many wedding cakes are often traditionally white, adding a few black features can create a beautiful and unexpected design. We suggest small black roses, a satin ribbon, or even an abstract brush of black along the white icing.

Bridesmaids Dresses

Can’t decide on a dress for your bridesmaids? A classic, elegant black gown is a simple way to include black and white colors in your wedding, and the color is flattering on all body types. The dark color of your bridesmaids’ dresses will also contrast nicely with your white wedding gown, which will look great in the wedding photos as well.

Wedding Decor

We encourage you to include your black and white theme colors in all aspects of your wedding decor. Not only are the colors chic and romantic, they also pair extremely well with nearly every detail. This includes everything from black and white table linens and chairs, to your wedding invitations and ceremony archway as well.

Don’t forget to include your nails in your black and white wedding theme as well! Check out some of these wedding nail ideas for some gorgeous design inspiration.
