With its gorgeous colors, festive holidays and fun seasonal decor, it’s no wonder fall is many couples’ favorite time of year to marry. From the beautiful foliage to tasty treats, here are a few wedding themes for fall to draw inspiration for your own wedding.
Rustic Chic
One of the most traditional wedding themes for fall is the very popular rustic charm. Opt for a cozy barn venue for a more personal, intimate ceremony with your guests. Details such as wooden accents, wildflowers and candlelit tables can also add to the rustic ambiance for your fall wedding. Add a few sunflowers in mason jars to your table settings and you’ll be good to go!
Get Outdoors
Fall is known for its great weather when you can escape both the extreme cold and the extreme heat. This also makes it the perfect season to enjoy the crisp air and host an outdoor wedding. Create some easy outdoor seating by using hay bales with blankets for guests. You can even add a few outdoor games for your guests to enjoy during the reception such as croquet, giant jenga and corn hole. We recommend ending the night with a bonfire surrounded by your family and friends, swapping stories and making s’mores!
Fun Foliage
A big part of the fall season is the gorgeous foliage it produces in bright reds, oranges and browns. Choose some of your favorite fall foliage in your their seasonal colors and incorporate them into your wedding decor, his boutonniere and your bouquet. You can even create some beautiful flower crowns for you, your bridesmaids and flower girl to wear on your wedding day.
Holiday Harvest
‘Tis the season for some pumpkins! Take advantage of the fall festivities and incorporate a little holiday flair into your wedding. Add a few pumpkins to your decor including your table settings and centerpieces. You can also create a holiday-focused menu with items such as pumpkin soup and of course the traditional pumpkin spice latte during your reception.
Go Plaid
Nothing says fall like some good old fashioned plaid. Not only is it warm and cozy, it’s also the perfect pair for a wedding theme for fall. While you don’t want to overdue it, you can add hints of plaid to details such as the groom’s tie, a light plaid flannel over your wedding dress, table linens and some plaid blankets to keep your guests warm if you’re having an outdoor ceremony.
Tasty Desserts
Fall has some of the best seasonal desserts around – and they also happen to make great treats for your wedding! Some of our favorites include apple pies, pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice cupcakes and apple cider for your reception. You can even set up your own candy apple station for guests to dip their apples in caramel with garnishes such as nuts, granola, sprinkles and more.
