Wedding Pies: A Unique Dessert for Your Reception

//  by The Wedding Shoppe

If there was ever a year to change up your wedding traditions, 2020 is that year. Rather than opting for a frosty-filled wedding cake, many couples are choosing to add pie to their dessert bars. Here are just a few of our favorite ways to serve wedding pies at your reception.

Place Card Pies

Who says you can’t eat dessert first? Help your guests find their seats with a miniature sized pie as their place cards. Once they’ve found their table, your guests will each have their own individual pie to enjoy before the start of your reception.

Pie Shooter

These hand held desserts are perfect for guests who like to roam as they eat. Choose your favorite fillings for an easy dessert that won’t leave your guests feeling too full to hop on the dance floor. Once you’ve layered your pie shooter inside the glass, top with your favorite fruits, caramel drizzle or cookie crumbles.

One of the most unique ways to serve your wedding pies are with a bite-sized pie pop. Not only are these sweet treats easy to hold, you’re also able to enjoy them without sticky fingers so you don’t have to worry about spilling on your wedding dress.

Mason Jar Cobbler

For couples who may be having a rustic themed wedding, cobbler in a mason jar is the perfect dessert to enjoy at your reception. We recommend researching which fruits will be in season for your wedding so you can have the freshest, most delicious options. You can even decorate the mason jars with you and your partner’s initials or your wedding date.

Party Favor Pies

There’s no better way to end the night than sending your guests home with some delicious party favors. Pack your mini pies in small gift boxes for easy transportation with a thank you note for guests on top. You can decorate the pie box however you like, whether it’s an elegant ribbon, rustic twine or even a simple stamp with their name on it.
