Finding the perfect venue for your wedding is often easier said than done. While many couples opt for a classic ballroom for their ceremony, it can be fun to find a venue that sets you apart from the rest. From botanical gardens to lakefront views, here are a few unique wedding venues in Michigan for your special day.
Shepherd’s Hollow
Shepherd’s Hollow truly feels like a fairy tale venue with its gorgeous private woods, pine trees and winding pathways. Located on a pristine 350 acres just north of Detroit, this venue also features an award-winning golf course and on-site restaurant focusing on American regional cuisine and specializing in beef and fresh fish. Shepherd’s Hollow is also great for your engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner and reception.
Planterra Conservatory
With its modern greenhouse and botanical gardens, Planterra Conservatory is one of our favorite unique wedding venues in Michigan. The Conservatory is home to a variety of exotic botanicals, along with European trusses, a stone gabian archway and koi ponds. The venue is open all year long and can be used in both the warmer and colder months thanks to its covered greenhouse.
Willowbrook Mill
Overlooking the marina and Northport Bay, Willowbrook Mill is a beautiful lakefront venue with all the necessities for a perfect wedding. Some of our favorite features include its rustic double-sided fireplace, elegant chandeliers in an exposed ceiling, ballroom and stone patio. Their wedding season lasts from June 1st – November 1st, and can also host ceremonies for a maximum of 100 guests during the off season due to weather constraints.
Old Town Marquee
This one of a kind venue is “the perfect blend of rustic and elegance.” Old Town Marquee is an incredibly versatile space with exposed brick, an art deco tin ceiling and large bay windows. The 6,000 square foot venue is ideal for smaller weddings, creating a more intimate space for you and your guests on your special day. Old Town Marquee also comes with amenities such as tables and chairs, bridal suite, dance floor and bar area.
