Our Favorite Ideas for a Nature Themed Wedding

Our Favorite Ideas for a Nature Themed Wedding

//  by The Wedding Shoppe

Whether you’re planning a large outdoor wedding or a small garden ceremony, a wedding surrounded by nature is beautiful no matter where you live! From earth tones to lush decor and foliage, here are some of our favorite ideas for a nature-themed wedding.

Outdoor Venue

Since a nature themed wedding is best suited for an outdoor venue, you have plenty of options to choose from when searching for the perfect location. Search your local area for a forested area with plenty of trees, or even a barn. An outdoor garden or courtyard area is also a great alternative. Don’t have a nearby forest or wooded area for your wedding? Make your own by adding some extra foliage to the tables, aisle, centerpieces, and more. Want our best picks? Try these barn wedding venues in Michigan.

Earth Tones

Bring nature into your wedding theme by incorporating earth tones into your color palette. Whether your wedding colors are shades of green, maroon, or even neutrals, try to use more of the darker shades to really embody the feeling of nature. You can also use these earth tones in other aspects of your special day such as your bridesmaid dresses, invites, and other decor.

Ceremony Arch

Your wedding ceremony arch is where you’ll say “I do” which also makes it quite an important part of your special day. Outdoor weddings are especially great for these arches as you can get as creative as you’d like without being limited to space. Decorate your arch with beautiful flowers and other foliage in your wedding colors, along with some additional vines or branches for a more rustic look. It also makes a great photo spot for your reception!

Decorating for a nature-themed wedding may seem simple, but you also don’t want to overdo it. Add your earthy color tones into various decorations such as mason jar centerpieces or emerald-colored table linens. Be sure to keep your chairs and other seating simple so it doesn’t complete with your overall theme. You can also try hanging some lighting from the trees such as candles or fairy lights to enhance the natural beauty even after the sun goes down.

We hope that these ideas for your nature-themed wedding help in your preparations. Need a little extra help finding the perfect dress for your nature wedding? Book an appointment with one of our bridal specialists today to get started!
