With over 25 years of leadership in the bridal industry, Michelle McFarland has established herself as a visionary force in both retail and wholesale bridal markets. As the founder and owner of The Wedding Shoppe, Metro Detroit’s largest bridal salon, Michelle leads a team of more than 30 professionals who share her dedication to exceptional service, hospitality, and client experience.
Her flagship boutique continues to set the standard for excellence, with ambitious expansion plans for 2026 and beyond. Michelle’s recent ventures include Aisle & Altar Designs, a fast-growing wholesale bridal accessory brand.
Michelle’s influence extends far beyond her stores. She is the co-founder and former President of the National Bridal Retailers Association, and the former President of the Better Bridal Group. She has spent years championing elevated industry standards and mentoring fellow boutique owners nationwide. While she has stepped back from those leadership roles to focus on her expanding portfolio, her impact continues to shape the bridal industry.
Outside of her businesses, Michelle is a proud mom of three grown daughters. She’s been married for 27 years and enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and relaxing at their mid-Michigan cottage. As she looks ahead to 2026 and beyond, Michelle remains focused on growth, innovation, and building thriving teams who deliver unforgettable bridal experiences.
