What to Wear Wedding Dress Shopping

What to Wear Wedding Dress Shopping

//  by The Wedding Shoppe

Shopping for your dream dress can be an amazing experience. We do want you to be comfortable and well prepared while shopping to make the process a lot smoother. From the proper shoes to makeup and undergarments, here are some of our tips for what to wear wedding dress shopping.

Proper Undergarments

One of the most important things to wear while shopping is the proper undergarments. Not only can they affect how your dress fits and feels, but it’s also a good idea to bring a variety of options depending on the dresses you try on. We recommend wearing nude colors as well, as these look best under white. A strapless bra is also great for a variety of dresses if you want to just bring one.

Flats + Heels

Dress shopping can be a long process, and sometimes a day-long activity. If you know you’re going to be walking around a lot, flats are your new best friend! Save your feet and save yourself the pain so you can focus on finding the perfect dress. For brides who already know what shoes they’ll be wearing on their wedding day, it’s always a good idea to bring those as well so you can see how they look with your favorite styles.

Light Makeup

Trying on dress after dress may seem intimidating, but wearing some makeup to your dress appointment can help boost your confidence and even help your decision making. If you have an idea of how you’d like your makeup to look on your special day, try to recreate the look for your appointment. However, we recommend leaving the self-tanner at home so you don’t stain any of the dresses you try on!

Easy Changing Clothes

Almost every bride-to-be will have a wide variety of dresses to try on throughout her dress shopping experience. This means changing in and out of your clothes several times so you’ll want to wear something light and easy for your appointment. It can even help speed up your shopping process – just remember the fewer layers you wear, the less you need to put on and off!
