The Wedding Veil: Trends and Looks for Your Big Day

//  by The Wedding Shoppe

Once you’ve found your dream wedding dress, it’s time to put the finishing touches on your look by picking out the perfect veil! With so many different styles and lengths to choose from, it can often seem overwhelming when trying to choose the best-fitting option. Whether you’re looking for a glam, embellished veil or a simple classic, here are some of our favorite wedding veil trends for your big day.

Blusher

While a blusher veil covers a bride’s head and face as she walks down the aisle, the big reveal when she pushes it back is one of our favorite moments! It drapes perfectly over almost any dress style without taking attention away from your dress. You can even pair a short blusher with a long veil in the back once you push it away from your face for the ceremony.

An embroidered veil can add the perfect touch of elegance to your wedding look on your big day. From delicate lace to small rhinestones, you can choose to make it as simple or as stylish as you’d like. You can even opt for a shorter or a floor-length veil for dramatic effect. These also generally work best with a simpler hairstyle, whether that’s a classic updo or loose waves.

Birdcage

This timeless classic is making a comeback! Not only does this style pay homage to the 1900s, but it also compliments your wedding look with its vintage feel. A birdcage veil will pair especially nice with a vintage wedding dress or even just lace accents on your gown. You can also add a headpiece such as a pin or a flower to complete the look.

Long and Flowing

For brides who have chosen a simpler dress, it’s a great opportunity to make your veil as long and dramatic as you’d like. Whether you choose a floor-length veil or one that blows perfectly in the breeze, a long and flowing veil can add that extra spark to your wedding day look. You can even experiment with how you pin it to your hair such as hairpins, a headband, or other accessories.

Still on the hunt for your dream dress? Check out some of our favorite simple wedding dresses with high style to pair perfectly with your veil! You can also book an appointment in our store and let your stylists help you find the dress of your dreams.
