From sprawling views of Lake Michigan to more intimate barn settings, it’s no surprise that West Michigan has some of the most beautiful wedding locations. With seating up to 250 guests, you’re sure to find the venue perfect for your big day. Many locations also have their very own event staff so you can have a stress-free day and focus solely on getting married. Here are some of our favorite wedding venues in West Michigan.
The Blue Dress Barn
First opened to the public in 2003, The Blue Dress Barn has now become a leader in the wedding industry. The barn venue was created by real-life couple Amelia and Kirby Briske who hoped to redefine barn weddings. The Blue Dress Barn lies just inland from the western coast, along Highway 94. While the venue is only open seasonally from May through October, it is known as the largest wedding barn in Michigan. You’ll also have your choice from two ceremony locations, including a more traditional site and a prairie-style site. The Blue Dress Barn has also been featured on popular sites such as The Knot, Style Me Pretty and Brides.com.
Apple Blossom Chapel & Gardens
Are you looking for a smaller, more intimate venue for your big day? Apple Blossom Chapel & Gardens is the perfect location for a small gathering of your closest family and friends, located along the coast near the small town of Fennville. After eleven years in the wedding industry, Apple Blossom Chapel is an expert at perfecting your dream venue. Some of the landscape features include a patio area, gazebo, small white chapel and gardens with the freshest flowers. Their chapel can hold up to 32 guests or as little as two depending on your ceremony size. Apple Blossom Chapel has even won awards from popular sites such as The Knot and Wedding Wire.
The Veranda at The Whitcomb
Located along the sands of Lake Michigan, The Veranda at The Whitcomb is a premier wedding venue in West Michigan. Not only does this location give you gorgeous lakeside views, it also has a variety of onsite locations for your ceremony. The venue is connected to the Whitcomb Senior Community and comes with a large Bridal Suite and room for up to 250 guests! The Veranda also includes a hosted bar service, catering and rentals such as tables, chairs and cleanup. Their goal is to “give every couple a wildly-successful sendoff” and one past couple even describes the venue saying “I wouldn’t have wanted to have my wedding anywhere else! I was treated wonderfully and made to feel extremely special.”
Henderson Castle
Not only does Henderson Castle host prestigious events and wine tastings, it’s also home to some of the most beautiful wedding ceremonies. With room for up to 120 guests at an indoor ceremony and 200 guests outdoors, Henderson Castle can accommodate nearly every wedding. Its packages also include add-ons such as couple massages, complementary wine tasting, and a hospitality suite. The castle grounds can even accommodate your plans for a bridal shower and rehearsal dinner. Henderson Castle also has a culinary team on staff should you need help choosing a menu and event staff for your other needs.
The Ballroom at McKay
If you’re searching for the perfect romantic setting for your wedding day, look no further than The Ballroom at McKay. As one of the most glamorous venues of Grand Rapids, it first began offering wedding services in 2013. It can hold up to 200 guests and each wedding includes the use of their Mahogany Venice chairs, banquet tables, wood dance floor, and more. The Ballroom at McKay employs a Venue and Event Coordinator so you can be sure your big day is taken care of in all aspects. The venue will also work with you to create a beautiful floor plan for your wedding day with an interactive online tool.
