Choosing the perfect wedding venue can be daunting, especially with Michigan’s weather and seasons throughout the year. A classic castle setting is both romantic and dreamy, with a hint of history in its walls. Whether you want to host an outdoor garden wedding or an indoor ceremony, these castle grounds can do it all. Here are some of our favorite castles in Michigan for your wedding.
Castle Farms
Located along the northern coast of Michigan, Castle Farms was built in 1918 as a dairy farm. After being reopened in 1966, the castle became a destination for tours, art galleries and more. The architecture is designed after castles in Normandy, France and now hosts a variety of events such as weddings. The castle grounds offer a selection of venues for your special day, including outdoor courtyards in summer and indoor chapels in winter. Each wedding package through Castle Farms also includes a venue coordinator, private dressing room, reception room and more!
Henderson Castle
Overlooking downtown Kalamazoo in southwestern Michigan, Henderson Castle is a stunning piece of architecture from the late 1800s. After being renovated and opened to the public in 2011, the castle now hosts events such as murder mystery dinners, corporate meeting, and weddings. You can have everything from your rehearsal dinner to the wedding ceremony on their grounds, with a variety of wedding packages available as well. Other perks include venue privacy, wedding party suites, cake tastings, and photo sessions.
Castle in the Country
After opening as a bed & breakfast in 1990, Castle in the Country became a popular destination for weddings and honeymoons alike. Enjoy your fairy tale wedding with their romantic, secluded scenery along with both venue and lodging accommodations for your guests. Depending on which package you choose, the reception can hold up to 150 guests or even an elopement ceremony for you and your partner. Castle in the Country also offers a special “Magical Midweek” wedding package if you’d like to keep your reception smaller and more on budget. You’ll also have access to an officiating clergy, photography and wedding cake.
