tips for brunch weddings

Why Brunch Weddings Are More Popular Than Ever

//  by The Wedding Shoppe

Thinking of walking down the aisle to the smell of freshly made waffles and coffee? Not only are brunch weddings more affordable and casual, they also involve delicious foods and treats. Here are a few important details to consider when planning your own brunch wedding.

All Day Fun

Since brunch weddings start earlier in the day, you have extra hours to spend with family and friends! However, this also means a much earlier start to your day. We recommend planning to walk down the aisle by 10 am, followed by an 11 am reception. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time in the morning for hair and makeup, along with letting your bridesmaids know what time to be ready as well.

Casual Attire

Brunch weddings are often more casual than a formal evening ceremony, which also means you can be a bit more flexible with your venue. Whether it’s your own backyard or a local garden, a smaller venue will also help your wedding feel less formal. Don’t forget include a dress code on your wedding invitations as well so your guests can dress appropriately.

Creative Menus

One of our favorite parts of brunch weddings is the endless possibilities when it comes to your menu. You can opt for a lighter array such as crepes and coffee cake, or have a full spread of bacon, eggs and biscuits. You can also have fun with the cocktail menu and include a Bloody Mary bar, mimosas with fresh juices, Aperol spritz and more.

In addition to your delicious menu, a brunch wedding is also perfect for desserts of all shapes, sizes and flavors. Want to switch up your traditional wedding cake? Get creative with a wedding cake made of waffles or pancakes, a naked cake or a donut tower.

More Affordable

For couples on a budget, a brunch wedding is one of the most affordable options. Many venues will offer you reduced rates since you won’t be hosting your wedding during peak hours, while brunch plates are generally less expensive than a full course dinner meal from your caterer. We recommend choosing which areas of your wedding you’d rather splurge on such as wedding photographer or a great band.
