DO YOU DYE SHOES AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Yes, we custom dye shoes to your swatch! We will also dye shoes not purchased from The Wedding Shoppe. Dyed shoes take about 7 to 10 business days. Rush dye services are available for an additional charge.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO DYE SHOES AND PURSES?

When you purchase your shoes from The Wedding Shoppe it costs only $20.00 per pair or purse. If you purchase 4 or more pairs of shoes you may choose either 20% off the shoes or FREE dyeing. Shoes purchased else where are $25.00 per pair or purse.

WILL MY SHOES MATCH MY SWATCH EXACTLY AND WILL THEY BE PERFECT?

Dyeing shoes is an art not a science. Because the fabric of the shoe and the gown are not texturally the same it is not possible to guarantee an exact match but the shoes/purse will compliment the gown. Sometimes shoes have imperfections that are not visible until they are dyed. This is beyond our control. These may include glue marks (areas where glue is present and the dye cannot penetrate the fabric), red or blue tiny dots or lines and other imperfections. If you are looking for perfection you may not be a good candidate for dyed shoes. Although dyeable shoes may seem expensive you are actually paying for the ability to dye them any color. The cost of the shoe is in the fabric, not the construction.

WHY DO YOU ASK IF THE WEDDING IS INDOOR OR OUTDOOR?

Due to the presence of ultra-violet light in the natural light spectrum, dyed items will look differently in indoor light versus outdoor light. For example peach shoes will look pink outside. Grey shoes may seem more purple or green outside. Ivory shoes will appear to be white. If your event is outdoors please indicate this when paying for the dye service. When shoes are dyed for outdoor light they will look different inside. Color will even appear different in the shade versus in direct sunlight. Most customers choose NOT to dye to outdoor lighting unless the gowns are tea-length. For example ivory shoes dyed for outdoor light will appear yellow inside. Only a few colors are unaffected by this lighting difference (black, red, navy blue, chocolate brown).

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY SHOES GET WET?

Dyeable shoes are NOT water proof. Any water/liquid/alcoholic (LOL) exposure will damage the shoe. You may purchase a water repellent spray which will help to protect the fabric, however damage may still occur. Do NOT water proof your shoes if you hope to re-dye them a darker color. Once they are water proofed the dye will not penetrate evenly and they cannot be re-dyed at a later date.
